Tour de France

I'm excited -- the Tour de France is still in town after all, and I haven't missed it. I was just confused because a) they're doing time trials today about a half hour out of town before they start on the road again from Toulouse tomorrow morning, and b) my French is a little rusty, so when native Frenchians assume I can understand them, sometimes it all sounds like bloopity bloop bloooop, n'est pas? and I just smile and nod to avoid looking like I was an idiot for striking up a French conversation in the first place.

Fun links of the day: First here, then here.

I don't know what they're talking about... I OWN the E & F chords, period. Took a copywrite out years ago when I predicted something like this would happen. Back to court I guess.

Now if you want something fun to procrastinate with, then check out the happy tree friends at http://www.hekkuli.org/~hekkuli/flash/htf/

Brian, just a thought here, but shouldn't you be spending your time, I dunno, touring Europe or something? I mean really, are you such a huge geek that you just can't possibly tair yourself away from all that crazy online news you love to read back home? (I know Heather answers yes to this.) Markus broke down and bought music, you broke down and bought Harry Potter, now this. You'd think that all that beautiful scenery (women) and authentic cuisine (alcohol) would keep the two of you occupied. Pathetic, no word sums it up better.

now those happy tree friends, THAT is funny! not suitable for parents or young children, but funny. thanks Michael Holt!

No problem, Shannon. It's humour that can be appreciated by all. And just so you know, I'm not some stranger that has wandered onto this site; I've known Brian a looooonnnggg time, more than likely much longer than anyone else posting here (except for his Mom, of course). Though I must admit, you all probably know the "university-brian" a lot better than I.

Are you kidding, Mike? You've known Brian just as long as I have, and I'm convinced there are things he has told you that he never told me!

Well, I didn't move to Newmarket until I was what, 3? And let me tell you, it was hard as heck trying to see over the steering wheel and reach the pedals at that age! So you've got a few years extra of knowing him that I don't, mind you, his brain was still majorily developing and trying to comprehend this little thing we call life at that point in time, but still, you've known him longer than I :P But yeah, there are things about him that you don't know, I'm sure...oh the stories..the laughs...the police...but i digress.

As a side note, I wonder how the two adventurers feel about everyone using the comment boxes more like forums to talk to each other?

I'm sure they don't mind us all talking to each other on here. They do get to read it after all, as this is about as close to a piece of home that they have right now, except for occassional phone calls to family members or significant others, but this is so much more free! Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.

Me interfere with Shannon stating her opinion! I love my life far to much to attempt such a hazardous task, but to answer your question, I donīt mind reading your comments at all. You hit the nail right on the head when you said that it reminds us of friends and the wonderful banter that weīre beeing deprived of while in europe. I say chat away. But then, thatīs just me.

Wise choice Markus, wise choice. I was sharpening my knives and polishing my bat over here just in case.

Hey, in my defence I need to say that even two hardcore European travellers need a little bit of relaxing time every now and then, whether that's reading a book or just surfing the web, y'know. Plus, what else are we going to do on all those boring train and ferry rides? Actually talk to locals? Ha!
